tick tick tick

i watch the new ones come and go
as is they're in a race
i listen to this heart inside
it's ever slowing pace

the present is a present
or so the poets trill
as i from some odd distance hear
echo's in the hills

the time of my watch ending
on the ever ticking clock
the seconds pass untill at last
i hear the last small tock

oh what a life it is for me
the race to pay my debts
the skin beneath my aging chin
the gambling with my bets

i know that you out there
all do the same as me
tick tock tick tock the ancient clock
runs on until we're free

Something Stolen

i feel the feel of loss here deep in me
i figured out the reason recently
that children laughing playing everywhere
have grown away on dissapearing stairs

it used to be my home was filled with toys
with children acting out their constant joy
and i continued smiling constantly
my heart was filled with joyous rhapsody

and now this silence penetrates my heart
as grown up now they take upon their wings
the air of freedom finding stops and starts
until at last their hearts find what to sing

i remain with changing colors ever
in my ever shifting changing weather

life in me

it matters much this non sequitor in time
where i seem to be is always where you are
no matter how much trouble there has been
or love making on earth or air sublime

you seem to call me from somewhere inside
and then you vanish like a winter wind
a springtime air so soft as i look there
toward the blosseming of the first abide

my love of life is boundless ever there
my heart beats out its numbers one by one
knowing that my time is like a light
that flickers in a forests summer night

oh glory be to life and all it's wonders
its summers breeze its winters midnight thunders
